Libby Marshall, Assistant Editor, acquired World English Language rights in a two-book deal from Rachel Mann at the Jo Unwin Literary Agency.

Clark’s as-yet-untitled second novel is scheduled for publication in Spring 2023.

Told in the investigative style of true crime, the novel explores the events leading up to the brutal murder of a teenager on the eve of Britain’s historic Brexit vote. Set in a deprived seaside town, the story is told via the contradictory accounts of suspects, interviews with friends and loved ones, and the strange, dark history of the town itself.

Faber also acquired rights in She’s Always Hungry, a collection of cinematic body horror and speculative fiction.

Taking readers from California to Newcastle, from Frontier-era America to an unexplored planet in the near future, from a pub down the road to an incel-occupied office IT department, She’s Always Hungry celebrates a darkly comic revelry in everything it is to be human.

Eliza Clark has relocated from her native Newcastle back to London, where she previously attended Chelsea College of Art. She works in social media marketing. In 2018, she received a grant from New Writing North’s Young Writers’ Talent Fund. Her debut novel Boy Parts was released by Influx Press in 2020 and it was named Blackwell’s Fiction Book of the Year and shortlisted for the Books Are My Bag Readers Awards.
