- Emily Brontë
Emily Brontë was born in 1818, and was brought up together with her sisters and brother; Charlotte, Ann, and Branwell. All three sisters became published novelists under the pseudonyms of Currer, Ellis and Acton Bell. Wuthering Heights was first published in 1847. It was only after Emily’s death that Wuthering Heights was recognised as a literary masterpiece.
