Harry Christophers

Harry Christophers (CBE) is one of the UK’s finest conductors, and a recipient of the prestigious Gramophone Artist of the Year Award. He is the conductor and artistic director of The Sixteen, which he founded 40 years ago. Since 2008 he has also been Artistic Director of the Handel & Haydn Society in America, and guest conductor with many of the world’s finest orchestras. He was a chorister at Canterbury Cathedral, a choral scholar at Magdalen College Oxford, and sang professionally with the choir of Westminster Abbey and the BBC Singers before devoting himself full-time to conducting.
