- Sacheverell Sitwell
Younger brother of Dame Edith Sitwell and Sir Osbert Sitwell, Sacheverell Sitwell (1897-1988) was a prolific writer of both poetry and prose. Born in Scarborough, Yorkshire, he served in the Grenadier Guards in World War I. After the war he went to Balliol College Oxford, but did not complete his degree. He travelled widely throughout his life and wrote many books on architecture, particularly the baroque.
